FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND YOGA RETREAT

RELAX & RECHARGE  INTOUCH YOGA RETREATS

“These retreats offer more than just relaxation, and a deeper experience of yoga. They offer a week of deep healing, cleansing and growth on all levels. Things that are buried deep within the tissues, within the cells, within the psyche, are gradually brought up into the light of consciousness, where we have the opportunity to review, and make choices based on wisdom, rather than unconscious, ‘knee-jerk’ reactions.”-Flo Fenton.

The winter retreats focus on going deeper into our practice, connecting to our inner selves, using all of the practices to gain clarity and insight.

EXAMPLE DAILY RETREAT SCHEDULE

Program begins Sunday 5.30pm with opening circle. Program ends with closing circle Friday evening followed by dinner – leave Saturday morning after buffet breakfast.

7.30-9.30am: Therapeutic Vinyasa style yoga Asana
Using a flowing, focused sequence of postures, we will address the fundamenatal asanas to build a deeper understanding of postural bio-mechanicss and learn to manage common areas of pain, tightness and weakness in the body. Though the practice is strength and fitness building, Flo creates a strong focus of awareness on the subtleties of the physical postures, core-strength, and the movement of the breath in the body. There will be alternatives given to those whose injuries or postural peculiarities prevent them from performing a posture with total comfort and safety. This practice will be of benefit to all, beginners to advanced students/teachers.

9.45am: Breakfast
A wonderful buffet breakfast provided in the long house, overlooking the ocean. An abundance of choice-fresh fruit salad, chia porridge, poached eggs, many varieties of toast, cooked tomatoes, fresh juices and smoothies and more!

10am-12pm: Free Time

Have a massage, a private yoga session with Flo, read, swim in the pool or the ocean or explore the glorious environment.

12.30pm: Yoga Nidra

1pm: Lunch
Freshly prepared, buffet. A cornucopia of flavours, from tacos to sushi, soups, salads, corn fritters and more!

1.30pm-4pm: Free Time
Have a massage, a private yoga session with Flo, read, swim in the pool or the ocean or explore the glorious environment.

4.15pm-5.45pm: Introspective Yoga Asana, Pranayama and Meditation
This session will be of particular benefit to those seeking a way to use their yoga practice to relax and ‘tune-in’ at a deeper level.
In this session we will explore the use of yoga props to facilitate ease in our asana practice, and different breathing techniques and meditations to bring about a deep experience of connectedness with the very subtlest layers of our being. Especially beneficial to those who have had a strongly Asana focused practice, are older or less flexible, or those who have stressful lives.

6.30pm: Evening Meal
The evening meal is ordered a-la carte and is freshly prepared and delicious! 3 delicious choices of main meal each night. Some have included laksas, curries, nourish bowls, roasted vegetables and more! Includes a delicious freshly made raw dessert!

Wine, beers and cocktails are available for additional purchase at the Sanctuary bar!

TESTIMONAILS

“Dear Flo, Just a quick message to thank you once again for the retreat last week, which very much lived up to my expectations. I was particularly impressed by the depth and breadth of your knowledge of yoga, and the excellence of your planning, preparation and presentation of lessons.
I expected to be tired and achy by the end of the week, but am pleasantly surprised to feel more energetic and with no aches and pains at all. I?m attributing this partly to the extra time you spent on pranayama and relaxation/meditation compared to other retreats I?ve attended, but also to the way that you sequence your lessons so that the body is very thoroughly prepared before moving into the stronger asanas. A good lesson for me to bring into my own practice!
The food, of course was wonderful, so was the location beside such an unspoiled, uncrowded beach, and the accommodation, I thought, was comfortable and good value for the price.
All up, a worthwhile, educative and enjoyable week! Best wishes for the future to you and yours, Warmest regards.”

“The retreat was wonderful. Flo is a great teacher and I really appreciated her teaching style: firm and organised but patient and full of intent. It was always clear what we were doing and why we were there. I liked how she led us through our practice, calmly and with purpose, whether that was asana or chanting or yoga nidra.”?

What a fabulous retreat, great location (Mission Beach), great food, and a lovely bunch of fellow Yogis. It was a privilege to attend Flo’s latest retreat. Whether you are new to yoga or have been doing it for 20 years, or somewhere in between, Flo’s teaching will give you a real boost.
